Featuring a massive 140 Amp current rating, the KICKASS advanced Voltage Sensitive Relay (VSR) with override is a specially designed battery isolator with the intelligent ability to sense both start and auxiliary battery voltages. This allows it to engage or isolate depending on each battery's voltage level. A major advantage of this dual-sensing VSR is that when the auxiliary battery is being charged by solar or an AC battery charger and it rises above 13.2V, the VSR will engage and charge the starting battery as well.

In normal operation, the VSR engages when the engine is running and the start battery reaches 13.2V. This connects the start and auxiliary batteries, enabling your alternator to charge both simultaneously. When the engine is off, there's no charge from the alternator, and the voltage drops. Once the voltage reaches 12.8V, the VSR disconnects the auxiliary battery, meaning the auxiliary battery cannot drain the start battery.

An integrated manual override switch allows you to manually connect the start and auxiliary batteries. This is useful when the start battery is low and the auxiliary battery has sufficient charge. Note: The manual override should not be used for instant starting as the start battery will take time to charge.

A remote switch can also be wired to use the same override feature.

The KICKASS premium VSR features a hermetically sealed tough case to resist weather and corrosion, making it ideal for 4WD, marine, truck, and industrial applications. It can be easily surface-mounted on the firewall or elsewhere, with convenient cable entry and exit points.

Key Features:

  • Charge your auxiliary battery without the risk of discharging your start battery
  • Protects electronics on auxiliary battery circuit from engine startup spikes
  • Fully automatic operation
  • Override switch (engages relay regardless of sense voltage)
  • Indication light wire (activates when VSR is engaged)
  • Override wire (activated by positive feed for optional remote operation)
  • Dual sensing – detects voltage of both start and auxiliary batteries
